Evatronix has released its latest display controller, a Digital Cinema Initiatives (DCI) compliant IP core that supports resolutions of up to 4,096 x 2,160 pixels with 24 bits/pixel colour depth.

At full HD resolution, the Display-CTRL-4K controller displays 60 frames per second, with a frame color depth of 48 bits/pixel.

The display controller uses a standard AMBA AXI interface to facilitate system-on-chip (SoC) integration.

The core is configurable and ready for advanced customer optimisation.

The settings include key AMBA AXI parameters: the width of the master data read and address buses, as well as the size of the slave address bus.

The core's Special Functions Register enables setting of up to 16 multiple outstanding transactions or long bursts in any combination and gives control over all horizontal and vertical timing parameters.

Designers can match the display controller with other system components such as any AMBA AXI bus compatible memory controller and DVI or HDMI transmitters.

The core can also output data to a Displayport interface by implementing the Main Video Stream Source component functionality.
