Supplies help COTS kit meet military standards
A new range of military power supply units ensure that portable laptop PC and IT equipment meet Def-Stan-59-41 and MIL-STD-461/462 emission levels for below-deck and land class use.
A new range of military power supply units ensure that portable laptop PC and IT equipment meet Def-Stan-59-41 and MIL-STD-461/462 emission levels for below-deck and land class use.
The innovative design has evolved with performance and power in mind.
Unlike conventional power supplies the range has the advantages of having low earth leakage, high output current and a compact size due to the optimum components used within the power supply.
The input power is autoranging from 90 to 230V AC, allowing for all applications and countries.
(Output power and termination is suited to individual application requirements).
A retaining clip is also provided for retaining the power cord to ensure no loss of power due to vibration or shock.
Initially developed in conjunction with QinetiQ at Farnborough for the Royal Navy's Navy Star project, the range has been enhanced to meet all the requirements of the US Tri-Services, in many cases allowing COTS equipment to comply with both 59-41 and below-deck and land class requirements.
Typical applications for these devises are laptop computers, flat screen monitors, battery chargers, printers and other IT ancillary products. The MPSU range of power supplies are built in accordance with the relevant BS, VDE, UL, CE and CSA safety standards.
All EMC Solutions filters and power supplies are designed to meet the latest requirements for health and safety, particularly BS EN60950.
