A novel test bed handles up to 36 PCMCIA and CompactFlash cards simultaneously, while allowing the user to access each card individually to perform test and/or measurement diagnostics.

Elan Digital Systems has announced off-the-shelf availability of a novel test bed for PCMCIA/CF cards.

The MTS1000 is a multicard test station supporting up to 36 PCMCIA and CF cards concurrently.

The MTS1000 unit allows the user to access each card individually to perform test and/or measurement diagnostics.

The station is based on Linux O/S.

The test station comes preconfigured with a choice of processor options and Red Hat Linux (Fedora Core 4) together with a graphical card manager allowing inspection inserted cards status and resource allocation etc.

It also has an integrated backup facility with a dual hard drive as well as the possibility of remote administration from a network connection.

Applications for this product include: wireless modem cards, serial /parallel interface cards, Bluetooth cards, RFID, smartcard readers etc.

Elan Digital can configure the test station for individual customers' card types if required.

This unique software/hardware test solution is designed for manufacturers of PCMCIA and CF cards who need to perform either final manufacture tests or characterisation procedures.

It can also be used by repair sections and organisations in order to provide fast and efficient fault diagnosis.
