The Komax Zeta 633 fully automatic crimping machine is ideal for the just-in-time production of individual conductors and offers a virtually limitless number of possible processes

Mounting cost pressure and the rapid pace of change are forcing the wire processing industry to seek out ever more cost-effective and flexible production processes. The best way to cut production costs is to reduce throughput times. This requires smaller order sizes. The new Komax Zeta 633 machine generation addresses this trend.

The fully automatic crimping machine is ideal for the just-in-time production of individual conductors and offers a virtually limitless number of possible processes with no need for changeover.

And when teamed up with the Zeta 655 block loader, it is a flexible system for the economical, fully automatic manufacture of wire harnesses of the most varied complexity.

The Komax Zeta 633 is available in the UK from Contax, the UK's leading independent supplier of automated production machines.

Variably programmable shuttles transfer the two wire ends of the loop individually one after the other to the appropriate processing station.

The basic machine can accommodate up to five processing stations.

If need be, the machine can be successively expanded to allow space for up to thirteen processing stations.

With the fully automatic wire changer, as many as 36 different wires can be processed without any conversions.

The new Zeta 655 makes consistent use of ultramodern sensor technology to ensure maximum process control and processing quality.

At the same time, the cycle and changeover times are extremely short.

The wire loop is taken over directly from the Zeta 633.

The wire is held behind the contact, which eliminates all contact-specific parts.

The angle and position are determined in a noncontact procedure and corrected for application.

As a result, different contacts can be processed simultaneously.

A force monitor reliably detects any defects and incomplete interlocks.

In the processing of two-sided wire harnesses, an optional rotary storage unit is employed for intermediate storage of the wire ends.

Housings are fed by means of a pallet system.

While the first pallet is being worked through fully automatically, a second is manually unloaded and loaded.

For new applications, the pallets can be exchanged within minutes in a simple procedure requiring no tools.

Customer-specific feed solutions are also possible.

Moreover, the Zeta 655 is equipped with the reliable TopWin user interface.

The data for the wire harness are recorded graphically.

TopWin then calculates at the press of a button the optimum order in which the wires are to be processed.

This eliminates time-consuming manual analysis and dramatically reduces time to production.
