Placement machine offers flexible assembly
Flexible SMD pick and place machine can incorporate automatic dispensing and handle placement of nonstandard devices, such as LEDs and metal domes
Available now from Contax, the Essemtec FLX2010-LCV is a highly flexible SMD pick and place machine that can incorporate automatic dispensing along with the placement of more irregular devices such as LEDs and metal domes. Ideally suited to the production of PCB assemblies along with membrane keyboards and other flexible circuits, the FLX2010-LCV enables all placement and dispensing tasks to be programmed in the optimal sequence.

Nicomatic metal domes can be picked from the standard Nicomatic sticks, nonstandard components can be assembled from preloaded trays or directly from standard SMD tapes.
Other SMD components can be taken from standard feeders such as tape, stick or tray feeders.
Options include: a Cognex vision system for devices ranging from 0201 to 50 x 50mm in size; two dispensing heads that allow the application of glue, conductive glue or solder paste; and an integrated vacuum table that offers a generous working area and easy handling of flexible circuits.
'The new FLX2010-LCV builds on the success of Essemtec's existing FLX range', explains Mike Rapson, Managing Director at Contax.
