Developed for high-availability telecommunications applications, the latest CompactPCI DC power supply from C and D Technologies is a 420W 'hot swap' unit in a standard 6U x 8HP form factor. The cPCI420DC features a 47-pin I/O connector option and is compliant with the PICMG 2.11 R1.0 Power Interface Specification as well as the underlying CompactPCI standards. Delivering 420W of continuous output power, the cPCI420DC has no minimum load requirements and supports the standard PCI output voltages of +5, +3.3, +12 and -12V.

Active current sharing and internal ORing diodes support high-availability (HA) applications that require reliable, hot swap performance and N+1 redundant configurations.

In addition, the use of output isolation diodes rather than FETs ensures true fault tolerance.

C and D Technologies's new power supply can accommodate a wide input voltage range of 36-72V DC and is designed specifically for telecommunication systems that require Telcordia NEBS and ETSI compliance.

The supply is completely self-protecting, with overload protection on each output and over-voltage protection on the low-voltage outputs.

In addition, the cPCI420DC features a power limit and thermal switches for the 'degrade' (DEG) warning signal and thermal shutdown.

Automatic recovery allows the unit to become operational once conditions return to normal.

A red fault indicator LED identifies if output voltages are outside of specification, while a green power LED indicates that the input voltage exceeds the minimum requirements.

Suitable for worldwide use, the cPCI420DC power supply is approved to UL1950, CSA950 and EN60950 safety standards.

The cPCI420DC power supply is priced at $359 for 1000 units.
