The combination of industry-standard network interfaces with a high-performance processor core enables developers using the Blackfin to develop solutions quickly without the need for costly external components.
The highly optimised ADSP-BF536/7 processors complements the scalable, fast Nucleus RTOS, allowing users to develop next-generation applications that require control and network processing, multimedia support and leading-edge signal processing in one, homogeneous architecture.
Other Nucleus software components available to ADSP-BF536/7 processor developers include the Nucleus Net protocol stack and the Nucleus File file-management software.
'Analog Devices is pleased to have Nucleus RTOS support for the latest Blackfin processors', said Jerry McGuire, General Manager, Convergent Platforms and Service Group, Analog Devices.
'By utilising the Nucleus RTOS with the high-performance processing and networked interfaces on the Blackfin processor, designers will be able to quickly and cost-effectively develop the next generation of network-connect applications'.
'As more communications processing becomes available on chip, more off-the-shelf software is needed to drive it', said Glen Johnson, Product Marketing Manager, Accelerated Technology Division, Mentor Graphics.
'Combining the Nucleus RTOS and middleware with this highly integrated processor gives embedded developers a complete solution for faster and easier development'.
The Nucleus embedded software is sold with source code and without royalty fees.
Licences for the Nucleus software begin at $12,495.
