Martin Sharratt, who for many years ran AMS Technologies'OptoTech Division, has started a new company called APTechnologies. plans to offer customers in the UK and ROI aportfolio of technologies focused on the industrial andscientific sector and will initially be offering the products ofAdvanced Photonix (API) and Opto Diode Corp (ODC), both ofCalifornia.
API is a leading manufacturer of innovativeelectro-optical products and technology, supplying standard andcustom silicon photodetectors and optoelectronic assemblies forcommercial, military and aerospace markets.
In addition to theirbroad capability in silicon PIN photodiodes API offer theirpatented filter-on-die Filtrode technology and large area siliconavalanche photodiodes (LAAPDs) which are the first solid-statealternative to PMTs.
ODC's mission is to supply the highestpower infra-red LEDs available in the world.
