Start with the news release MOSFETs drop gate charge and on-resistance from Vishay Siliconix, which we summarised at the time by saying "Two new power MOSFETs combine the extremely low gate charge values enabled by WFET technology with the very low on-resistance values of TrenchFET Gen II technology.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Novel MOSFETs promise to boost DC/DC performance from Vishay Siliconix: "A new range of power MOSFETs uses a breakthrough TrenchFET technology to combine greatly reduced switching losses with ultralow on-resistance.".
