Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Load switches suit motor drive applications from Fairchild Semiconductor: "Fairchild Semiconductor has developed the Accupower load switch series, designed to be a drop-in, integrated solution for consumer, industrial and computing applications.".
In November 2010, we covered the news from Texas Instruments - take a look at PWM controller for general lighting applications which says: "Texas Instruments has introduced the TPS92210, a single-stage LED lighting pulse width modulation (PWM) controller.".
