Start with the news release LCD displays designed for industrial environments from Vartech Systems, which we summarised at the time by saying "Vartech has launched a range of LCD displays that are designed for industrial and process control environments requiring protection from the intrusion of dust and/or splashing water (at the bezel). ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Osram LEDs utilised in Dolby reference monitor from Osram Opto Semiconductors: "Osram Opto Semiconductors has revealed that its LEDs support high technical standards for Dolby's LED-backlit professional reference monitor, targeted at film and TV production and post-production.".
 
In July 2010, we covered the news from Sharp Microelectronics - take a look at LED-backlit display ideal for indoor/outdoor use which says: "Sharp Microelectronics has introduced a 12.1in LC-display to its portfolio of displays with LED backlighting for industrial applications such as measurement, testing or controlling equipment.".
