FPGA leader wins Chinese award

The Virtex-5 family of platform FPGAs has won "Product of the Year" in the Logic and Programmable Logic category of EE Times China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards for 2007.

Xilinx has been recognised by Chinese electronics designers and the local semiconductor industry for its corporate commitment and product leadership in China.

The Xilinx Virtex-5 family of platform FPGAs, shipping on 65nm since May 2006, won "Product of the Year" in the Logic and Programmable Logic category of EE Times China Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Awards in 2007.

The company also placed as a finalist for "Company of the Year" in the Best Brand of the Year category for EE Times China ACE Awards in 2007.

The EE Times China ACE Awards were presented at the 12th International IC China Conference and Exhibition on 5th March in Shenzhen.

Xilinx also ranked as one of the "Top 10 Most Popular Semiconductor Brands in China" for 2006 by China Electronics News (CEN) and China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID) Consulting Group.

The CEN/CCID Top 10 award was presented at IC Market China 2007 on 7th March in Shanghai.

Built upon the industry's most advanced 65nm triple-oxide technology, breakthrough new ExpressFabric technology and proven ASMBL architecture, the Virtex-5 family represents the fifth generation in the award-winning Virtex product line.

Key design team innovations in process technology, architecture and product development methodology have provided 65nm Virtex-5 devices with on average 30% higher speed, 65% increased capacity, 35% reduction in dynamic power consumption and 45% less area required than previous generation 90nm FPGAs.

Virtex-5 FPGAs, the world's first 65nm FPGAs are available now with 12 devices shipping across three platforms (LX, LXT, SXT).
