Vitelec Electronics has achieved full compliance with the EU's RoHS Directive/2002/95/EC

Vitelec Electronics, part of the Connectivity Solutions Group of Emerson Network Power, has achieved full compliance with the EU's RoHS Directive/2002/95/EC. The development means that Vitelec's leading range of connectors and cable assemblies already meet the pending European directive on the Restriction of hazardous substances which come into force on 1st July 2006.

Having established a technical team specifically to implement a lead-free transition during 2005, Vitelec is now able to ensure its customers are fully supported in meeting RoHS legislation, without disrupting their business.

Indeed, lead-free soldering on all Vitelec cable assemblies began on 1st June 2005, and compliance marking of packaging for all connector and cable products commenced on 1st November 2005.

'Achieving full RoHS compliance early is a highly significant development for us', commented Peter Walmsley, Sales and Marketing Director, Emerson Network Power - Vitelec Electronics .

He continued: 'We have invested considerable time and resources into ensuring all our products meet the new directive, an effort we believe will greatly benefit our customers during this potentially testing time'.
