Toshiba has expanded its family of diode protection devices with new 5.6 and 6.2V parts that integrate multiple Zener diodes into ultraminiature packaging.

Featuring very low terminal capacitance ratings, the new devices are designed to provide electrostatic discharge (ESD) and surge protection in high-speed signal applications.

The new DFxA5.6Lxx and DFxA6.2Lxx are ideally suited to portable equipment and other high-datarate applications where space is at a premium.

Configuration options of either two (2-in-1) or four (4-in-1) integrated diodes help to reduce component count and simplify assembly, while package sizes down to just 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.55mm (ESV) ensure optimum space savings.

All of the new devices offer a minimum ESD immunity level of +/-8kV (in accordance with IEC61000-4-2).

Typical terminal capacitance (CT) ratings for the 5.6V parts are just 8.0pF, falling as low as 6.5pF in the case of the 6.2V devices.

The 2-in-1 configuration devices can be supplied in USM and ESM packages, and the 4-in-1 devices are available in USV and ESV package styles.
