Supercapacitors solve power delivery
problems
Devices boast low impedance, a very low profile and competitive pricing, making them well suited for cost-sensitive portable applications.
The Cap-XX G Series of ultrathin general-purpose supercapacitors is now available from Tecate Industries Comprising the GS and GW Series of single- and dual-cell supercapacitors, the RoHS-compliant parts offer an ideal answer to the power delivery limitations of batteries and other current-limited energy sources, including conventional capacitors

These parts, which boast low impedance, a very low profile and competitive pricing, are well suited for cost-sensitive portable applications.
The supercapacitors offer long-life performance at up to 2.3V in the single-cell versions and 4.5V in dual-cell configurations, with two cells connected in series.
Both versions operate from -40 to +75C and boast the smallest and thinnest form factor for any given ESR and capacitance.

Low-profile design for tantalum polymer capacitors
Epcos is now shipping polymer tantalum capacitors in case size X, measuring only 1.5 mm high, 7.3 mm long and 4.3 mm wide.
Featuring a novel nanotechnology construction that packs the highest energy and power densities in a thin, lightweight prismatic package, the G Series is optimal for a wide range of handheld and portable wireless, consumer, and industrial devices.
They solve power delivery problems in applications in which pulsed loads draw greater power than the voltage source (typically a battery or current-limited power supply) can comfortably deliver.
The series is most commonly specified in GSM/GPRS/Edge modems in PCMCIA and CF cards, PCI Expresscards and USB-attached devices, automotive subsystems, wireless modems, autofocus zoom lenses, motor drives in digital cameras, as well as in short-term UPS and telecomms systems and renewable energy applications.
These supercapacitors reduce voltage drops and DC/DC requirements, and protect against voltage transients and electromagnetic interference to further ensure product reliability.
Moreover, the parts extend product battery life, runtime and standby time, especially in low-temperature environments.
The low-ESR high-capacitance supercapacitors provide the power to meet peak current loads, while storing enough energy to meet large power surges.
The GW Series features a very small 28.5 x 17.0mm footprint and combines high capacitance (up to 0.4F at 4.5V) with low equivalent series resistance (as low as 60mohm) in a thin (0.90-2.90mm) package.
The GS Series features a small 39.0 x 17.0mm footprint and combines high capacitance (up to 0.7F at 4.5V) with a very low ESR (as low as 34mohm) in the same thin (0.90-2.9mm) package.
Although firm pricing is determined according to quantity and Series specified, per piece pricing in quantities of 1000 for the GS Series ranges from US $3.06 to $5.69; GW Series prices range from US $3.06 to $5.37.
Delivery is from stock to 8 weeks ARO.
