Pulse, a Technitrol Company (NYSE: TNL), one of the world's largest electronic component manufacturers and a leader in passive, magnetic-based components, introduces the ChipChoke Series of common mode chokes. These products are said to eliminate common mode noise in high-speed networks using the USB2.0 standard and other high-speed differential signal transmission applications like IEEE 1394 and LVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signaling).
Applications include PCs, scanners, printers, handheld devices, digital cameras, games, set-top boxes, and LCD displays.
The ChipChoke CCMC series are common mode chokes on an 0805 or a 1206 chip.
There are three basic models, two on 0805 chips and one on a 1206 chip.

Coupled inductors cut capacitor demands
Coupled inductors for nonisolated step-down DC/DC voltage regulators bring a faster transient response, lower ripple current per phase and increased system efficiency
For the two 0805 products, one has an epoxy coating and impedances of 67, 90, 120, or 180 ohms and the other has a magnetic shield and impedances of 67, 90, 120, 180, 260, or 360 ohms.
The 1206 product has a magnetic shield and impedances of 90, 160, 260, 600, 1000, or 2200 ohms.
'With higher speeds such as 480 Mbps in use, eliminating electromagnetic interference (EMI) without attenuating the signal becomes even more critical,' said Philippe Duchatel, Pulse product manager.
'This series is a combination of Pulse expertise in both common mode chokes and miniature chip inductor technology.
Pulse has chip inductors available in 0402, 0603, 0805, 1008, 1206, 1210 and 1812 sizes, all one-channel inductors that are single-wound.
The ChipChoke products are two-channel inductors (dual-wound) in the same space as the single-wound components and offered in two 0805 and one 1206 configurations.' Products are available in tape and reel and detailed specifications are available on data sheet W712.
