The iLink toolset is an integrated suite of logic analyser, oscilloscope and accessories for maximum design, debug and troubleshooting efficiency using TLA700 Series logic analysers

New signal analysis capabilities for Tektronix TLA700 Series logic analysers signal the completion of the iLink toolset, an integrated suite of logic analyser, oscilloscope and accessories for maximum design, debug and troubleshooting efficiency. With the constant pressure to stay on product development schedules, engineers are confronting new challenges as they design and debug digital systems.

Hardware, software and firmware domains are becoming less discrete and are adversely affecting one another, increasing the number of potential root causes for each elusive error.

A failure at the application level, for example, might have its origin in the application software itself, the packetised protocol, the digital logic, or the bus timing.

Therefore, design engineers need a more comprehensive view of their systems and new analysis capabilities to better understand system faults.

The Tektronix TLA700 Series logic analysers address this need with iVerify capabilities, which offer eye diagrams and mask testing for hundreds of signals instantaneously.

As part of the iLink toolset, iVerify provides multichannel analysis and validation testing using powerful oscilloscope-generated eye diagrams.

"Today's design engineers need to quickly view and analyse a multitude of signals and large amounts of data, and are often working with high-speed buses that require optimal setup-and-hold sample windows in order to identify and understand faults", said David Bennett, General Manager, Logic Analysers, Tektronix: "With iVerify, system analysis that was previously limited to a handful of channels at a time can now be performed on hundreds of channels simultaneously, enabling validation testing on a much larger scale".

iVerify is the latest member of Tektronix' iLink toolset, a combination of hardware, software, accessories and probes for the Tektronix TLA700 Series logic analysers, facilitating seamless integration with a Tektronix oscilloscope.

iVerify joins iConnect (digital/analogue data acquisition through a single probe) and iView (time-correlated, digital/analogue display) to complete the iLink toolset, a project begun in 2000.

The iLink toolset provides high-performance, analogue/digital probing, acquisition, display and analysis to radically speed the debugging of many signals and ensure the integrity of system designs.

iVerify is now shipping on all TLA700 Series logic analysers.

Existing TLA700 users can obtain these capabilities at no cost by downloading the TLA Application Software Version 4.3 from the Tektronix website.
