Analyser aids in network development

Tektronix and IneoQuest have jointly produced a comprehensive support package for the development of next-generation network equipment operating at speeds of 10Gbit/s and beyond.

At last week's Embedded Systems Show in London, Tektronix and IneoQuest demonstrated a comprehensive support package developed jointly for the development of next-generation network equipment operating at speeds of 10Gbit/s and beyond. The demand for faster Internet-based services is driving network equipment designers to develop an array of new switch and router port cards that support multiservice data traffic at significantly increased bandwidths. To accomplish this, developers are utilising new technologies, such as 10 gigabit Ethernet (10GbE), to optimise data flow among communications networks.

Implementing these technologies requires a high-performance probing, timing, characterisation and protocol debug solution that offers full system visibility and correlation of microprocessor, internal system bus and external serial bus activities.

The tight coupling of Tektronix logic analysers with IneoQuest network traffic generation and performance analysis systems offers extended 10GbE test capabilities, including protocol analysis, large capture memory and sophisticated triggering.

IneoQuest's Singulus G10/OC-192 network traffic generation and performance analysis system works in conjunction with TLA700 Series logic analysers to extend performance analysis capabilities of 10 Gigabit Ethernet and Packet over Sonet (POS) OC-192 technologies.

The integrated system provides the ability to define 10 Gigabit Ethernet frames and stimulate the device or network under test in a controlled manner, while remaining cost-effective and easy to use.
