Power inductors are designed to offer increased functionality in space-constrained devices

New from TDK Corp, the TFC252005 and TFC252010 series power inductors are 60% smaller in volume than previous parts in the company's range. The TFC252005 and TFC252010 series, with a reduced footprint of 2.5 x 2.0mm, have been designed to offer increased functionality in space-constrained devices.

An essential element of power supplies, the TFC252005/10 power inductors are particularly suitable for designers of DC/DC conversion circuits in small or portable devices, such as mobile devices, personal navigation systems, personal multimedia devices, automotive navigation and multi-media entertainment systems.

The reduction in dimensions is married with good saturation behaviour and outstanding current capability.

The 1.0mm-profile TFC252010 series offers inductance values from 1.0 to 4.7uH with DC current ratings from 570 to 1070mA; and the 0.5mm-profile TFC252005 series offers inductance values from 0.25 to 2.2uH and features DC current ratings from 460 to 1200mA.

Inductance tolerance for both series is +/-30% with a specified operating temperature from -40 to +85C.

The TFC252010 and TFC252005 series are available now, supplied either in volume tape-and-reel packaging or in sample books for testing purposes.
