The use of a "universal" power shelf of only 1U height allows provisioning of power in terms of the number of "slots" rather than in terms of individual power modules.

The Infinity NE from Tyco Electronics Power Systems has been developed specifically to address the need to provide dual-voltage power in a dynamic, changing environment.

The use of a "universal" power shelf of only 1U height allows provisioning of power in terms of the number of "slots" rather than in terms of individual power modules.

Any of these slots can be used for 24 or 48V load requirements, rectifiers or DC/DC convertors, ensuring that capacity is never "stranded" by changing needs.

Selectable voltage distribution ensures there are sufficient distribution positions for each voltage.

Two distinct platforms are available using this architecture, the NE-S for smaller applications and the NE-M for larger systems.

The Infinity NE-M provides up to seven power shelves in a half-height frame, full-height frame or mini-frame - with power units per shelf - and any power unit can be used in any shelf position.

Maximum output is 1200A at 48V or 1500A at 24V.

The NE-S system offers up to four power shelves in a half-height frame, full-height frame or mini-frame, with three power units per shelf for a maximum output of 550A at 48V or 825A at 24V.

All NE systems incorporate a full-featured integrated Ethernet controller designed with modularity in mind to fit in a rectifier position or on the distribution door.

The Galaxy Pulsar Plus controls and manages rectifiers, convertors, and other system peripherals through a robust digital control bus.
