Visopia has selected Perkinelmer's RGB LED design as part of a high power lighting system for the Scion Fuse 2006 concept car.

Visopia, a Los Angeles-based advanced lighting design company, has selected Perkinelmer's RGB LED (light emitting diode) design, Aculed (all colour ultrabright LED), as part of a high power lighting system, for the Scion Fuse 2006 concept car.

Visopia leveraged Aculed's multiple-chip-on-board (COB) design to create a multi-element headlamp, including high beams, low beams, fog lamps and an innovative colour-changing decorative surround in this concept.

Visopia's Aculed design-in for the Scion Fuse 2006 concept car was previewed at the 2006 New York International Auto Show held during April 2006 at the Jacob K Javits Convention Center in New York City.

"Perkinelmer's Aculed is a distinctive product that combines the power, colour and size qualities we needed to create the concept car's distinctive signature circuit board design reflecting Scion's key philosophies of style, versatility and surprise", said Carlo Quinonez, Lighting Designer for Visopia.

"The Aculed's precise white point selection and an infinite palette of colour lighting have enabled us to create the perfect balance of ambience and functional lighting".

"The Aculed's compact size contributes to our greater design freedom, allowing for integration of lighting functions into the overall front-end design".

"We believe that the innovative features and performance benefits of the Aculed will ultimately differentiate Scion's new Fuse model from other vehicles", Ronny Bagdadi, another partner at Visopia added.

"We are extremely pleased that designers such as Visopia continue to select Perkinelmer's Aculed solution to help deliver high profile, new product introductions", said David Nislick, Vice President, Perkinelmer Optoelectronics.
