SBS Technologies has formed a partnership with TelTron Telemetry Systems Corp, the premier supplier of integrated, ground-based telemetry systems

SBS Technologies has formed a partnership with TelTron Telemetry Systems Corp, the premier supplier of integrated, ground-based telemetry systems for missile, test range, laboratory and flight test environments. Under the agreement, SBS will continue to supply TelTron with embedded components that are an integral part of the company's telemetry systems.

In turn, TelTron will allow SBS to purchase and resell its full product line of integrated telemetry systems to its own customers, many of whom are prime contractors or subcontractors for missile and flight test projects as well as other government agencies.

"The SBS/TelTron relationship has been on going for a long time and formalising this relationship now brings two of the telemetry industry leaders together for the benefit of our customers", said Frank Willis, Vice President of Government Business Development for SBS Technologies.

"SBS' involvement in the telemetry market goes back even further, with SBS selling telemetry components for more than a decade.

Today, many of our customers have said they don't have the time to build their own systems from components - they want fully integrated systems.

To that end, our partnership with TelTron will enable SBS to offer those customers out-of-the-box telemetry systems for important defence projects".

"We have a strong commitment to SBS", said Randy Younger, President of TelTron.

"We've chosen SBS embedded products for our telemetry systems because of the company's solid reputation in the telemetry market.

And now we look forward to offering our mutual customers cutting-edge telemetry products, service, and support".

Telemetry solutions, which transmit data captured by instrumentation and measuring devices to a remote station where it is recorded and analysed, are often high profile, government projects.

TelTron telemetry systems are deployed by defence contractors to test, monitor, and perform launch "go/no-go" decisions.

Some customers employ TelTron telemetry systems to process, reduce and distribute telemetry data throughout the project test and analysis community.

Historically, SBS Technologies has designed and manufactured embedded board level products used in airborne and ground based telemetry systems, test laboratories and data centres.

These products include PCM decommutators, bit synchronisers, PCM simulators, demodulators, L and S band receivers, single board computers, DataXpress Telemetry System Software, as well as other hardware and software necessary for demanding telemetry solutions.

Customers can purchase SBS board-level products and integrate their system themselves, or utilise SBS' expertise in delivering a turnkey system level solution, ready for their application software.

Through the partnership with TelTron, SBS will now also offer fully integrated telemetry solutions, which includes the latest telemetry workstation from TelTron - the TLM-4002 real-time telemetry processing system.

With the TLM-4002, thousands of telemetry parameters can be converted into engineering units and sent to any number of remote terminals in real time at the same time data are recorded to hard disk.

Data extraction from recorded telemetry files is performed at high speed.

The system comprises two new state-of-the-art decommutators, each with a bit-synchroniser, IRIG time code reader, and PCM simulator on a single slot 6U sized VME board.

Four VME single board computers, each with its own local PCIbus for SCSI and 100Base-T Ethernet, are used in the system.

Each CPU's memory is dual-port RAM that is shared across a VMEbus.

SBS will also offer the DDR-100 digital data recorder system.

This system provides cost effective telemetry data collection entirely in the digital domain.

Master DDR controller software is available for users to monitor and control several DDR channels from one central location.

TelTron's RCI remote command interface will also be available from SBS.

The RCI is a program designed to receive messages over a network that trigger predetermined sequences of instructions.

These solutions, which use board-level SBS products, provide new system level options for customers.
