Mezzanine processor employs PowerPC

This week at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose, California, SBS Technologies announced its new Telum TSPE01 processor Advanced Mezzanine Card (AdvancedMC). The Freescale MPC7447A processor-based Telum TSPE01 joins the SBS Telum ASLP10 Intel Pentium M processor AdvancedMC in SBS Technologies' extensive Telum line of AdvancedMC products.

The Telum TSPE01 is a single-width full-height AdvancedMC processor board with up to 1Gbyte of soldered DDR2-400 SDRAM system memory and dual gigabit Ethernet channels to the B+ carrier connector and a single 10/100Base Ethernet RJ45 port on the front panel.
This AdvancedMC processor module supports hot swap capabilities and is designed for use in a broad range of applications such as wireless basestations, voice over IP, test and measurement systems, media servers, basestation controllers, and server blade applications.
An onboard Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) subsystem monitors board voltage and temperature conditions, maintains system status, and manages hot swap operation.
In accordance with the AMC.0 specification, the Telum TSPE01 is hot swap capable and field replaceable.
The Telum TSPE01 is available with a VxWorks or Linux board support package and in keeping with environmental policies, a RoHS-compliant version will be made available.
