RPM Systems has announced programming support for Atmel's AVR AT Xmega family of microcontrollers.

The MPQ-AVR programmer provides in-circuit programming of all available devices in the AVR Xmega family.

The Xmega support is in addition to existing AVR microcontrollers already supported by MPQ-AVR, including the ATMega, ATTiny and AT90 microcontroller families.

Designed to provide medium- to high-volume in-circuit programming in the manufacturing environment, the MPQ supports programming of as few as four to as many as 64 devices per programming cycle.

It can operate standalone, ATE-controlled or PC-controlled and provides features such as automatic device serialisation, CM code security data protection and field-upgradable device support in a rugged aluminium enclosure.

MPQ is provided complete with power supply, target connection cables and MPmanager software.
