Cingular Wireless tests receiver performance
US network operator Cingular Wireless is to use the R and S TS8952G conformance test system for internal quality assurance.
Cingular Wireless has joined forces with Rohde and Schwarz to test mobile phones.
The US network operator will use the R and S TS8952G conformance test system for its internal quality assurance.
This will include performing receiver tests for downlink advanced receiver performance (DARP).
Moreover, the two companies will collaborate on developing further DARP test functions.
Rohde and Schwarz leads the market in validated DARP test cases.
DARP can reduce unwanted signals in GSM mobile radio networks and thus significantly increase network capacity.
This method is therefore of great interest to network operators such as Cingular Wireless, which is a leading GSM network operator in the USA.
Rohde and Schwarz was able to offer DARP test scenarios for its R and S TS895xG family of RF test systems even before the specification had been completed.
The network operator will also test to Edge and AMR standards with the TS8952G, which was designed specifically for receiver tests.
