PEI-Genesis connectors can now be bought online
PEI-Genesis has upgraded its website with a personalisation facility called MyPei, which enables customers to shop online and access features such as technical advice and connector comparison charts
Since the distributor holds its inventory as component parts and assembles connectors to order, it needed to be able to present customers with a real-time list of the finished products that can be built from those components and then integrate that into its back-end systems.

PEI-Genesis has introduced MyPEI, enabling its customers to shop online
MyPei, which has increased the website from a few hundred pages to almost 300,000, offers customers access to more than three million connectors that can be built and shipped within 48 hours.
The company carries a $60m (?37m) inventory of component parts from manufacturers including Amphenol, ITT Interconnect Solutions (Cannon and VEAM), Glenair and Polamco.
By using the 'Part # Search' field at the top of every page, customers can view detailed technical information and product availability for a particular connector part number.
Connector comparison charts are available to help customers select the right product for their application and there is also a specialist engineering team on hand to provide further advice if needed.
Individuals logged into MyPei can buy connectors online using either a credit card or their company's trade account.
Customers are also able to view orders, track shipments, see over ten years of purchase history, print or e-mail invoice copies, check contract pricing, request special quotations and ask technical questions.
The company expect that within two years at least 10 per cent of orders will be coming through MyPei.
