Parker Hannifin EMD is offering its new XL25i stepper drive and indexer, together with a compatible 23 frame motor and PC-based motion control software, for just GBP 199

Parker Hannifin's Electromechanical Division is offering its new XL25i stepper drive and indexer, together with a compatible 23 frame motor and PC-based motion control software, for just GBP 199. Launched at the Drives and Controls exhibition in March, XL series drives combine latest-generation power switching technology with a compact and simple approach to packaging, enabling OEMs to construct high performance motion control systems for cost-critical applications.

This offer - which is equivalent to Parker's standard 100-off OEM price - is intended to help highlight the significant cost savings that users can achieve through this type of motion control technology, and will apply to orders for any quantity until the end of August 2001.

XL series drives are housed in an ultra-slim metal case that has a width of just 30mm, a height of 175mm and a front-to-back measurement of 130mm.

Designed for panel mounting, using standard connectors and screw terminals for ease of installation, XL drives simply require a nominal 80V DC motor supply and a 24V DC logic supply.

The XL25i delivers a current of 2.5A and offers four user-selectable motor resolution settings - spanning 400 to 4000step/rev - to simplify control optimisation.

The stepper motor that Parker is supplying as part of this package is a high performance, IP55-rated NEMA 23 single-stack unit with terminal box connections.

The drive features programmable motor current and automatic current reduction at standby.

It is also equipped with extensive condition monitoring circuitry to guard against overheating and supply faults.

XL25i drives incorporate an exceptionally powerful indexer.

This offers RS232 serial communications and eight user-programmable I/O ports, expressly designed for robustness and using 24V levels throughout.

This guarantees a high degree of noise immunity and compatibility with virtually all PLCs on the market.

Parker has expended considerable effort in making the indexer easy to program, with the result that many programming operations can be carried out very efficiently, using just a few commands.

For example, predefined move profiles can be stored and then executed in response to a single program command or external event, which minimises programming effort and simplifies the implementation of fast-response control systems.

The introductory package includes Parker's EASI-Tools software, which enables users to fully configure the drive and to create, edit and save motion control programs on a standard PC running Windows 95/98, 2000 or NT4. Request a free brochure from Parker Hannifin Electromechanical Automation....
