Two new Cheetah Series boards are based on the Intel Pentium M processor using the newest Intel 855GME chipset with memory controller and the new Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub

Two new configurations of the popular Cheetah Series boards are based on the Intel Pentium M processor using the newest Intel 855GME chipset with memory controller and the new Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub (ICH). The new models offer highly integrated solutions featuring lower power consumption and lower parts count that result in especially high reliability.

Configurations include the Cheetah-Cr CompactPCI (cPCI) single-board computer in a 6U form factor and the Cheetah-Prs single-width PMC single-board computer.

Operating at 1.10 or 1.60GHz (Cheetah-Cr only) with a 400MHz system processor bus frequency, the new boards feature 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet, PICMG compliance, Serial ATA interface, USB connectors, front panel HD-15 VGA interface, a 1Mbyte firmware hub and a battery-backed real-time clock.

The Cheetah-Cr cPCI model includes a Type II CompactFlash socket for added flexibility.

For especially cost sensitive applications, Momentum will offer the Cheetah-Cr systems with a 1.30GHz Intel Celeron M processor.

"Intel's newest chipset and I/O controller have enabled us to expand our Cheetah product offering to give our customers the latest technology in several of the most popular configurations.

We pride ourselves in being among the first to make Intel's useful new developments available in complete single-board products", stated Momentum's President, Harry White.

"Momentum's latest Cheetah boards, which offer either the Intel Pentium M processor or the Intel Celeron M processor combined with the Intel 855GME chipset and Intel 6300ESB I/O controller hub (ICH) provide additional choices for designers seeking to optimise performance in a selection of form factors", noted Tom Steenman, General Manager, Embedded Intel Architecture Division.

"By offering both combinations of processor, chipset and controller, Momentum can give its customers a choice of low power solutions for a variety of communications, networking and industrial applications".

The new Cheetah Systems are available now from stock for small quantities and with delivery times of six to eight weeks for production quantities.

Prices for the models featuring the Pentium M processor start at less than $2000 with volume discounts available.
