Board appointment for Ace

Malcolm Ace, Director of Finance at Southampton University, has joined the Innos Board of Directors.

Innos, the UK's leading research and development company delivering expertise in silicon, MEMS and nanotechnologies, has appointed Director of Finance at Southampton University, Malcolm Ace, to the Innos Board of Directors. He will provide his expertise in finance as part of Innos' growth into commercial and academic sectors. Malcolm Ace has been Director of Finance at Southampton University since 2004, having been Director of Finance at Portsmouth University from 1999 to 2004 and has spent over 20 years working in senior financial management at Universities across the country including Oxford and Manchester.

On his appointment, he stated: 'I am very pleased to be joining Innos at such an exciting time, as it works to promote collaboration between universities, research institutions and industry, to bring intellectual property with clear-cut commercial applications to market'.

'Alongside the other directors of the board I hope to help build a sustainable future for Innos and lend my guidance to future investments in people and infrastructure as well as funding opportunities'.

CEO of Innos, Andrew Monk adds: 'Innos needed a senior director with strong financial skills to help guide the future growth of the company'.

'Malcolm brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the board and will be an asset to Innos as it expands'.

Malcolm Ace joins the Innos Board that comprises: Professor William J Stewart, Chairman; Andrew Monk, CEO; Professor Peter Ashburn, Director; and Professor Wendy Hall, Director.

Announced last week, Innos will be holding an open day on 7th July at its facilities in Southampton.

The day will be a chance for academic and industry representatives to network and put forward project proposal ideas in order to attract a GBP 200,000 pump-priming fund supported by Innos and EPSRC.
