Citing engineering design excellence and high quality performance as key factors in its selection of Inphi's ICs, CST is currently using the INCU877 PLL clock driver in its pilot production, with plans for volume use as the testers ramp up to regular production. "We are pleased with the technology that Inphi engineers have applied to reduce the phase jitter and enhance the duty cycle characteristic of the part", said Cecil Ho, President of CST.
"These two parameters are absolutely crucial to our tester margin and performance, and ensure our customers will receive better performing, more stable memory module testers from CST".
"This translates to a higher return on their investment in their memory module production".
The INCU877, part of Inphi's ExacTik family of precision timing devices, is a high performance, low skew, PLL-based, sero delay buffer that distributes a differential input clock signal to ten differential clock outputs and one differential feedback (reference) clock output.

The clock outputs are controlled by the input clock, the input feedback (reference) clock, the LVCMOS control inputs, and the analogue power supply.
A logic circuit on the clock input pins, independent from the input buffers, detects the logic low levels and places the part in a low power state where all the outputs and the PLL are off.
The INCU877 also track spread spectrum clocking (SSC) for reduced EMI.
The INCU877 is designed for nominal 1.8V power supply operation and is packaged in a plastic 52-ball VFBGA.
Inphi's ExacTik family of CMOS timing devices for computing applications is the highest performing in the industry.
Every part meets or exceeds JEDEC specifications and delivers exceptional accuracy at low-cost for this generation of DDR2 applications.
The ExacTik family includes timing devices for memory modules, and other server, workstation and notebook applications.
Currently shipping, ExacTik products are characterised by the highest performance in terms of jitter, slew rates, lock times and skew.
