Intersil has made two high level appointments designed to further focus the company as a high performance analogue company.

Intersil has made two high level appointments designed to further focus the company as a high performance analogue company.

Intersil's board have named outside director Gary E Gist as Chairman.

Gist has been one of the company's directors since its inception in August 1999.

"Gary brings tremendous knowledge about the electronics industry and management in the high tech industry", stated Rich Beyer, Intersil's President and CEO.

"Gary has extensive insights into Intersil's transformation into a high performance analogue company".

"Intersil's management team and I look forward to working even more closely with Gary in his role as Chairman".

Rajeeva Lahri has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Worldwide Operations and Technology Group.

In addition, Dr Lahri will continue to serve as the company's Chief Technology Officer.

The Worldwide Operations and Technology Group include information systems, worldwide procurement, packaging, process technology, operations planning, fab operations, test and assembly and foundry operations.

"Rajeeva and his team have been instrumental in transforming our worldwide operations and technology group into a top performing organisation".

"He has executed our 'Fab-Lite' strategy that involves blending internal manufacturing in our Palm Bay and Milpitas locations with the use of outside partners for fab, probe, assembly, and test", said Beyer.

"The worldwide operations and technology group has played a key role in the transformation of Intersil to a high performance analogue semiconductor company".
