Integrated Microelectronics has achieved successful registration to the ISO/TS16949:2002 quality standard, the highest international quality standard for the automotive industry.

Integrated Microelectronics has achieved successful registration to the ISO/TS16949:2002 quality standard, the highest international quality standard for the automotive industry.

Arthur R Tan, President and CEO of IMI, says: "Our ISO/TS16949 certification is a milestone for IMI".

"Not only does it demonstrate our ability to provide world-class solutions but, more importantly, it improves our competitiveness in the automotive electronics market segment, which is anticipated by analysts to offer tremendous outsourcing opportunities in the coming years".

Tan adds: "The road has been paved for our increased presence in the automotive market and expanded business with our existing automotive electronics OEM customers".

Prior to obtaining the ISO/TS16949 certification, IMI was certified in 2000 to QS9000, the American automotive industry's quality standard.

IMI has been manufacturing automotive electronics components and devices for global OEMs since 1986.

ISO/TS16949 is an international quality management system certification that harmonises existing American, German, French and Italian automotive standards into a single standard, eliminating the need for multiple certifications.

It was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), which represents major automotive manufacturers in the world, in collaboration with the International Standards Organisation (ISO).

This standard has become a requirement for EMS companies for servicing automotive electronics OEMs.

IMI's accreditation to the ISO/TS16949 standard recognises that IMI has the necessary systems and processes in place for the manufacture of automotive electronics products.
