"For under $10,000 they will have the specifications and accuracy that have previously only been available in higher-priced instruments".
The 2944 1.05 GHz communications service monitor is designed for maintenance, repair and field-testing of AM/FM analogue receivers, transmitters and repeaters.
There is no comparable instrument in the market today that provides the measurement capability and accuracy of the 2944 for under $10,000.
Versatile, rugged and lightweight, the 2944 combines a number of instruments into one convenient box, allowing users to make exacting measurements whether they are in the workshop or in the field.
The 2944 communications service monitor is lightweight, highly accurate and rugged.

Designed for the wireless testing professional, the 2944 features as standard: a full-span spectrum analyser, narrowband and broadband power meters, audio analysis tools, a full-featured signal generator and a digital storage oscilloscope.
The spectrum analyser operates from 100Hz per division to full span with a fully adjustable reference level.
Its speed is comparable to analogue analysers, allowing real-time adjustments over the displayed dynamic range.
The optional tracking generator can quickly and easily align duplexers and filters.
With the optional "look and listen" feature, users can tune the analyser to a particular frequency and then listen for AM or FM audio signals.
Channel stepping is performed by defining an increment and using the freq keys, which is especially useful for testing multichannel systems.
With better than 2uV sensitivity, the 2944 will measure the power of low-level signals such as those encountered when monitoring off-air signals or those found when probing a circuit.
Measurements up to 150W are possible without the need for external attenuators, so high-power basestations can be measured directly.
Measurement accuracy of better than 10% is guaranteed down to 5mW on the N-type connector, allowing mobile units to be qualified at lower power levels.
As of October 2001, IFR was forced to discontinue the production of its popular 1200 Super S communications service monitor due to parts obsolescence.
That gap is now filled with the new and more powerful 2944.
The 2944 will cost-effectively continue to provide land mobile professionals with the powerful RF tools they need to keep their communication systems operating in top condition.
The 2944 communications service monitor will be available from 1st April 2002.
Delivery is eight to 12 weeks upon receipt of order.
It is priced at US $9995.
