Designed for wireless infrastructure and production testing, the IFR 2397 high-performance portable spectrum analyser will also be used for satellite telephones and ground stations

Designed for wireless infrastructure and production testing, the IFR 2397 high-performance portable spectrum analyser will also be used for satellite telephones and ground stations, television broadcast and cable television field-testing, quality measurements for manufacturing or laboratory applications, and other general purpose RF and microwave applications.

Configurable hardware options of this latest member of the IFR's 239X family of spectrum analysers include a tracking generator, AC/DC power supply, high stability timebase and quasi-peak detector.

Configurable software options include distance to fault, marker label edit, and EMC for precompliance testing.

"The IFR 2397 spectrum analyser is of great value to customers who buy and use a large quantity of spectrum analysers for manufacturing and field testing", said Bryan Harber, Spectrum Analyser Product Manager, IFR.

"We are able to give customers an instrument that includes the features most important to them, such as the tracking generator and the distance to fault software".

The IFR 2397 spectrum analyser is part of the 239X family of spectrum analysers, whose range extends from 9kHz to 3GHz in the IFR 2397 and up to 26.5GHz in the IFR 2395 spectrum analyser.

The IFR 2397 is lightweight (9.4kg) and offers many of the same features found in higher priced instruments.

The marker system simplifies troubleshooting by allowing nine markers to be displayed on the screen at any one time, and a marker table shows the frequency and level of each marker selected, thus allowing multiple signals to be evaluated simultaneously.

The standard RS232 and GPIB interfaces allow remote control of the instrument.

A VGA output allows the user to connect to a VGA colour monitor and view the larger display in colour.

EMC testing can also be carried out, an option that provides the measurement facilities and resolution filters required for precompliance testing.

The IFR 2397 spectrum analyser is available immediately, with delivery 4 weeks on receipt of order.
