Green Hills Software has released its embedded software solutions for the Texas Instruments Sitara AM3505 and AM3517 microprocessors (MPUs), based on the ARM Cortex-A8.

The company's ARM-optimised solution includes the Integrity real-time operating system (RTOS), Multi integrated development environment (IDE), optimising C/C++ compilers and Green Hills Probe.

The architecture of the Integrity RTOS achieves high levels of security, safety and reliability for applications in industrial control, automation, transportation and medical industries.

The Integrity RTOS is the foundation for Green Hills's Platform for Industrial Safety, with certification by TUV and Exida to the IEC 61508 safety standard at Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3), and also for the Green Hills Platform for Medical Devices, providing artifacts for the operating system to support FDA approval submissions.

In addition to the Integrity real-time operating system, the integrated Green Hills Software development solution for TI's Sitara AM35x MPUs consists of: portfolio of embedded communications, graphics, file systems and other middleware; Multi integrated development environment; Green Hills optimised C/C++ compilers and Green Hills Probe.

The AM3505 and AM3517 are MPUs based on ARM Cortex-A8 cores running at 500MHz.

They integrate numerous peripherals, including Ethernet, UART, CAN, SPI, I2C, USB and a rich graphics display subsystem.
