Embedded switches handle
a range of applications

GE Fanuc embedded switches are available in a broad range of formats, including 6U VME, 3U VME, 6U CompactPCI and 3U CompactPCI, and can be deployed in both benign and harsh environments

GE Fanuc Embedded Systems has released the Neternity family of embedded switches and the OpenWare switch management environment. OpenWare is portable across switch fabrics and processor environments, is easy to customise using the familiar Linux command line interface and is designed to make selected GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Neternity switches easy to deploy and easy to manage.

OpenWare will be available on new members of the Neternity family, and progressively made available on existing family members.

GE Fanuc's Neternity/OpenWare the RM921, RM922RC and CP921RC Gigabit Ethernet switches have been released 'No other company has the same breadth or depth of capability when it comes to embedded switches', said Rubin Dhillon, Global Director of Product Management for Communications at GE Fanuc Embedded Systems.

'This new branding is designed to emphasize that'.

'We also want to make customers aware of the fact that Neternity switches featuring OpenWare are compatible, giving organisations the flexibility to choose the right switch for each application while easing development, deployment and long-term support'.

GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Ethernet embedded switches are available in a broad range of formats, including 6U VME, 3U VME, 6U CompactPCI and 3U CompactPCI, and can be deployed in both benign and harsh environments.

CompactPCI switches are PICMG 2.16 compliant.
