Available now from KineticSystems Company, the VCDS VME to VXI adapter card is a functional replacement for the Colorado Data Systems Model CDS 73A-851. The VCDS is a single-width, C-size VXI module that adapts most B size VME modules for use in a VXI mainframe. The VCDS adapter maintains the VMEbus environment, timing, and backplane by buffering the VME address bus, databus, and control signals and routing them to the installed VME module.

The VCDS supports seven interrupt levels and eight TTL trigger lines as well as two ECL trigger lines.

'We work closely with systems integrators to provide VME to VXI adapter technology for real-time ATE applications'.

'Our customers have traditionally built VXI systems around readily available VME-based processors and used the now obsolete Colorado Data Systems VME to VXI adapter'.

'We received a number of requests from our long-time aerospace customers to provide a replacement for the Colorado Data Systems adapter card', said Patrick Cassady, Executive Vice President of KineticSystems.

'Leveraging off of our prior successes with products such as our V15X, a VME to VXI adapter card for single board computers, we designed and developed the new VCDS card that will allow our customers to continue to build new VXI systems around their existing VME processors and I/O modules', Cassady added.

An extraction tool for ease of removal from the system chassis is included.

The extraction tool's robust mechanical design allows it to endure repeated chassis insertions and extractions.

The VCDS card is available to order immediately and the international manufacturer's suggested retail price starts at US $2595.
