Elantec Semiconductor has a new family of low-power gamma voltage buffers for portable low-power battery-operated applications

Available in a number of channel options, this low power buffer family is available in ultra-small LPP packages as well as the standard TSSOP package. Targeted applications include notebook, web-pad and other portable TFT-LCD applications where the reduced power consumption helps extend battery life.

The new EL5127C (4-channel), EL5227C (8-channel), EL5327C (10-channel) and EL5427C (12-channel) feature rail-to-rail output capability and 30mA continuous output current rating per channel.

Each channel features a bandwidth and slew-rate specifications of 2.5MHz and 1.5V/us, respectively.

Pin-compatible with the EL5x23C gamma buffers, the EL5x27C family also features a reduced supply current rating of 120uA per channel.

Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing for Video and Amplifier Products at Elantec said, "The EL5x27C family of buffers, available in an ultra small LPP package, offers the same output drive and rail-to-rail capability as our other popular buffer families but uses 75% less supply current.

These features enable the design of slimmer handheld devices and offer extended battery life".
