Elantec Semiconductor has four new multichannel buffers targeted at column driver reference voltage buffering applications in LCDs. Designed specifically for 14in and greater displays, the EL5X23C family features the same performance as the popular EL5220C and EL5420C, but at higher levels of integration. They are also available in very small outline packages, a combination that helps to reduce board area requirements and lowers cost in computer monitor, notebook and LCD-TV displays.

The new EL5123C (4-channel), EL5223C (8-channel), EL5323C (10-channel) and EL5423C (12-channel) represent the next generation of Elantec LCD buffers.

They feature 12MHz bandwidths, 15V/us slew rates and rail-to-rail input and output functionality.

Packaged with inputs on one side and outputs on the other, the EL5123C family enables easy layout of the LCD printed circuit board.

Michael Jennings, Director of Strategic Marketing for Video and Amplifier Products at Elantec said: "Elantec is a major supplier of reference voltage buffers to the top manufacturers in the notebook and PC-monitor LCD markets.

These new parts are designed to provide the required number of buffer channels in a single package, enabling cost and board space savings over the traditional approach of using multiple two- or four-channel devices".
