Bluetooth I/O modules, available as OEM modules or as a developer's kit, can be used for remote control of pneumatic or electrical industrial equipment
The USB Serial Port Adapter automatically installs itself as a virtual COM port when connected to a computer.
The installation runs smoothly as the industrial application programmer gains full control via the connectBlue standard AT commands.
The Bluetooth and WLAN stacks are incorporated in the connectBlue module, with no additional software needed.
'Since the programmer need not to license a complex Bluetooth or WLAN host stack or driver, there are no additional configuration costs', said Rolf Nilsson, President of connectBlue.
'Also, there is no longer a need for a traditional serial port, serial cable or power cable'.
'Consequently, the new USB Serial Port Adapter makes easy configuration and testing possible'.
The USB Serial Port Adapter is based on the connectBlue Bluetooth and WLAN Serial Port Adapters.
Therefore, it can take advantage of features such as internal or external antenna and short or long range versions.
All Serial Port Adapters are fully configurable via a set of AT commands.
Besides the Serial Port Adapter firmware, the USB adapter can be equipped with other firmware versions, including support for the Bluetooth File Transfer (FTP) and Object Push (OPP) profiles, Bluetooth I/O, repeater functionality and multi-point versions.
