Housed in a rugged portable chassis, the Big River P440 includes the StreamStor Amazon, Conduant's premium disk controller and sixteen high capacity 2.5-inch notebook disk drives

Conduant has released the Big River P440 data recorder delivering over 400 megabytes per second sustained recording and playback performance for field or mobile applications. Housed in a rugged portable chassis, the Big River P440 includes the StreamStor Amazon, Conduant's premium disk controller and sixteen high capacity 2.5-inch notebook disk drives.

It features a high-resolution flat panel screen display, a keyboard with touchpad mouse and a high-performance motherboard and processor.

With support for FPDP, LVDS, and Serial FPDP (optical) interfaces as well as compatibility with the numerous IO boards available for the PCI bus, the P440 provides exceptional performance and capability in a field portable platform.

'The need for reliable high-speed data acquisition in the field continues to grow among scientific research and defence communities', said Ken Owens, CEO of Conduant.

'By integrating our Amazon disk controller with a portable PC platform, we answer that need with the fastest, most reliable recording and playback performance available today'.

'The portability of the P440 makes it ideal for demonstration, field or mobile applications'.

The Big River P440 data recorder features an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, gigabit Ethernet connectivity and expansion PCI slots for optional third-party high-speed acquisition I/O boards.

Capacities up to 3.2 terabytes are available for hours of continuous recording.

The StreamStor Amazon SATA Disk Controller, included with the Big River P440, provides a powerful and flexible data interface system based on Conduant's modular mezzanine architecture.

It is the only disk solution that allows a choice from a variety of COTS I/O options and uses a wide range of popular interface options such as FPDP, Serial FPDP, FPDP II, LVDS or the PCI bus for direct-to-disk recording.

StreamStor Amazon features over 400Mbyte/s of sustained performance.

In addition, it includes features such as data forking, and circular buffer recording for today's most demanding applications.
