Parallel characterisation speeds Spice
The Cadence Aptivia parallel characterisation option is reckoned to easily and cost-effectively slash circuit validation time up to 10x or more
The new option "parallelises" Cadence Spectre Spice simulations to characterise any number of corners and variations. This adds a new performance dimension to Aptivia, which is now also fully integrated with Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Composer and analogue design Environment. To ensure high yield while meeting performance targets, design teams must validate their circuits across many process corners and environment variations.

This can take many weeks, forcing most designers to either inadequately validate their circuits or slip schedule.
Aptivia parallel characterisation directly addresses this problem by providing easy-to-use automation that "parallelises" the validation process - cutting weeks of runtime to a day or two.
Each Aptivia parallel characterisation option enables designers to run up to four Spectre Spice simulations in parallel, and designers can use any number of options simultaneously.
