Reconfigurable DWDM solutions on show
Bookham will launch an expanded product portfolio at next month's OFC/NFOEC (8th-10th March, Anaheim Convention Centre, Anaheim, California)
This will be the company's first showing at the exhibition as a US entity. Visitors to the Bookham stand (2213) will be able to see a range of new products - many of which will be on display for the first time in the world - under the theme of reconfigurable DWDM solutions for metro systems.

Reconfigurable networks in focus
New products from Bookham at next month's OFC/NFOEC show in Anaheim, California, will focus on reconfigurable networks, tunability and pluggability
'DWDM is set to grow rapidly and we are committed to providing cost-effective reconfigurable solutions', said Giorgio Anania, Chief Executive Officer at Bookham.
'OFC offers us the perfect opportunity to show that we can offer our customers a comprehensive product portfolio underpinned by our R and D expertise, in-house development capability and low cost manufacturing'.
Among the products to be highlighted are: an intelligent optical platform subsystem series with wavelength selectable switch (WSS) that is reconfigurable for ROADM applications; a 24-pin Tx module, built on Bookham InP Mach-Zehnder technology with integrated electronics for faster system design turnaround; a wideband tunable transponder, the first vertically integrated transponder using Bookham's widely tunable DS-DBR laser; a DWDM SFP transceiver that delivers DWDM optics on the SFP footprint; a suite of XFP transceivers offering low cost form factor for the metro core; the world's only coplanar APD receiver with integrated VOA that dynamically adjusts receiver power in DWDM systems; a 10Gbit/s EML, the first of a family of EMLs based on a unique new chip architecture, designed with a regional metro in mind; and an ultra-high-power 980nm pump laser and uncooled miniDIL pumps for lower cost amplifiers and lower power dissipation.
Bookham is taking a leading role at the exhibition delivering five technical papers and two invited papers.
Bookham's Chief Executive Officer, Giorgio Anania, is also taking part in the OSA and Pennwell executive forum on driving fibre to the user.
