Aspex expands to new Euro HQ
Fabless semiconductor company Aspex Technology has announced opened a new European headquarters at Denham, Middlesex.
Fabless semiconductor company Aspex Technology has announced opened a new European headquarters at Denham, Middlesex.
The move to a new, more expansive facility has been made in response to the rapid increase in staff numbers made during the run-up to the introduction of the much anticipated Linedancer Chip.
Aspex' workforce now numbers 25, increasing the numbers by more than half since this time last year.
The new 600m2 facility will house the whole of Aspex' European workforce - uniting in one location the R and D, sales, marketing and customer support teams.
The move follows on from the company's recent expansion into the USA, and the creation of its Mountain View office.
Plans are currently afoot to expand still further Aspex' US operations, both in terms of staff and office locations.
With Aspex now fully committed to addressing the demanding needs of 3G and DSL OEM designers, the company has also appointed dedicated product marketing managers for Linedancer.
Jacqui McCready (formerly Agere Systems, Lucent Technologies, Madge Networks and Motorola Semiconductors) has responsibility for developing Linedancer for the 3G marketplace - where it is anticipated that Aspex will deliver their devices into the 3G wireless infrastructure, replacing reconfigurable devices and ASICs with a fully programmable processor technology.
In addition, Mike Abell (formerly Sunrise Telecom, Dallas Semiconductor, MATRA MHS and Siemens Components) will oversee Aspex' penetration into the DSL marketplace.
In this sector Aspex' semiconductor products will provide unrivalled port density and flexibility for xDSL Central Office applications.
"The move into a larger facility shows the vigour with which the Aspex are looking to attack the 3G and DSL markets.
With the launch of our Linedancer DSP chip imminent, it was felt that a new location, in unison with our Mountain View office, would provide our teams with not only first class design facilities, but more significantly the foundation from which to provide our future customers with a fast class service", remarked Graham Dodgson, Aspex' VP Sales and Marketing.
Dodgson concludes: "The added bonus with this new facility is that it will also be able to accommodate the exciting expansion plans we will look to embark on post-Linedancer".
