Microchip has produced the industry's first 8 and 16Kbit Microwire-compatible serial EEPROMs in 6-lead SOT-23 packages

Approximately the size of the equals symbol on a standard keyboard, the package footprint is approximately 72% smaller than the popular 8-lead narrow SOIC package and 56% smaller than an 8-lead TSSOP, and its height is 23% smaller than the SOIC package. Microchip's advanced PMOS electrically erasable cell process technology has allowed it to package the new 93XX76A/B and 93XX86A/B serial EEPROMs in industry's only miniature packaging for three-wire devices.

Microchip has also released its 93XX76C and 93XX86C devices in 8-lead MSOP, TSSOP, PDIP and SOIC packages.

The devices also offer lower write-cycle times, supply current and standby current.

The 93XX76/86A devices support an 8bit-wide memory organisation whereas the 93XX76/86B devices support a x16 organisation.

The 93XX76/86C devices feature a standard word organisation pin to select either 8 or 16bit word lengths.

The 93LC76A/B/C and 93LC86A/B/C have operating voltages down to 2.5V, active current of 1mA and standby current of 1uA.

For applications with even lower voltage requirements, the 93AA76A/B/C and 93AA86A/B/C operate down to 1.8V.

A third series, the 93C76A/B/C and 93C86A/B/C, are also available for 5V applications.
