Chip clears up hands-free car kits
The ATH3001 hands-free car kit (HFCK) full-duplex integrated circuit is designed for improved sound quality in hands-free applications
The SoundClear enabled ATH3001 provides improved speech intelligibility with high speaker volume in noisy car environments. Signal integrity and improved sound quality are achieved through the Acoustics' SoundClear suite of technology and full-duplex control that dynamically monitors, detects and processes incoming voice, echo, and noise signal power levels.

The echo cancellation technology is robust to automotive background noise environments and mobile phone network imperfections.
"The ATH3001 device allows customers to have natural conversations with superior voice quality using a hands-free car kit with our unique SoundClear technology," said Sam Thomasson, Acoustic Technologies Chief Executive Officer.
"Car kits built with our ATH3001 device enable loud speaker volume, natural-sounding voice quality and conversation flow, just like being face-to-face."
The ATH3001 feature list includes 42dB acoustic echo cancellation, 30dB network echo cancellation, up to 12dB noise reduction, 10-band graphic equaliser, and sound enhancement.
For ease of system integration, the ATH3001 includes dual analogue codecs, a microphone preamp, and an output speaker driver.
There is an additional digital PCM interface for simple connection to Bluetooth or other digital interfaces.
Integrated monitoring and control processors with noise management ensure clear and crisp two-way communication.
The ATH3001 device reduces component count and hands-free car kit system cost by providing integrated codecs and advanced I/O ports.
The SoundClear-enabled ATH3001 is available for immediate sampling in a 48-pin LQFP package.
The ATH3001 is tunable to specific casings and user preferences.
Acoustic Technologies SoundClear products combine acoustic echo cancellation, bidirectional noise reduction, sound enhancement, and far-side anomaly reduction with sophisticated monitoring and control techniques to enable full-duplex speech and improved voice clarity.
The full-duplex operation provides rich, clear, enhanced sound with no clipping or distortion.
