A new website allows customers to rapidly find and source samples from Microchip's extensive range of analogue semiconductor products, with samples supplied from Anglia's stock in its UK warehouse

Anglia and Microchip have launched the analog2go.com website, which allows customers to rapidly find and source samples from Microchip's extensive range of analogue semiconductor products. The samples will be supplied from Anglia's stock in its UK warehouse. The website includes a comprehensive selection guide and a full online ordering facility, and provides the fastest route for UK engineers to obtain samples of Microchip's analogue parts - most requests will be fulfilled within 24 hours.

Said Ken Millar, Microchip's Senior Channel Manager for Northern Europe: 'Microchip is best known for its 8 and 16bit microcontrollers, but not all engineers immediately think of us when choosing the complementary analogue components to work with those micros'.

'By introducing the analog2go service Anglia is providing a first class level of support to this important part of our product range, and we are very pleased to have them working on our behalf to help develop this important market'.

'Unlike most broadline distributors, Anglia doesn't carry competing lines of analogue products', added Steve Rawlins, Anglia's CEO.

'Microchip's analogue devices have been specifically developed to get the best performance from their micros, and it's in the customer's interest as well as ours to make it as simple as possible for them to design in the full solution including the analogue'.

The sampling service from the analog2go website will be backed up by a high level of support from Anglia's technical team, which can assist with reference designs as well as offering help with specific design problems.

One area where this turnkey approach will be of particular benefit is that of power consumption, which is a major consideration for designers these days, especially in mobile and portable systems.

In many cases it is possible to optimise the power performance simply by means of the power management circuitry, rather than by changing the microcontroller to one with a lower power specification.

Redesigning the analogue circuit requires far less development time and resources than does changing the micro.

Microchip's range of analogue semiconductors includes thermal and power management devices, switching regulators, charge pump DC/DC convertors, power MOSFET drivers and battery management ICs.

The range also includes linear, mixed signal and interface ICs, such as op amps, programmable gain amplifiers, comparators, A/D and D/A convertors, frequency-to-voltage and voltage-to-frequency convertors, LCD drivers and Ethernet interface ICs.
