Start with the news release ON Semiconductor unveils silicon-based VCXOs from ON Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "ON Semiconductor has introduced a range of silicon-based voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) for use in networking, Sonet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, base-station and broadcasting equipment.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release ADI releases AD9553 and ADCLK944 clocks from Analog Devices: "Two new clocks from Analog Devices (ADI) improve performance and reduce programming and design complexity in synchronous optical networks and wireless base stations. ".
