‘Resistive Touchscreen’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release TFT touch-panel PC for POS/kiosk applications from Avalue Technology, which we summarised at the time by saying "Avalue Technology has introduced the FPC-08W05, an 8.9in WSVGA TFT touch-panel PC that can be wall mounted or integrated as an HMI, food service panel PC or POS/kiosk display system.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release LCD display modules for gauges and meters from Saelig: "Saelig has announced the availability of uLCD-32PT, a 3.2in QVGA TFT with 65K LCD TFT display with integrated touch screen and smart graphics processor for industrial control and robotics.".
In December 2010, we covered the news from Atmel - take a look at Atmel touch controller used in Sharp smartphones which says: "Atmel has announced that Sharp has selected its Maxtouch mXT224 touch controller to power the SH8128U smartphone. ".
Take a look also at the news release from Aaeon, HMI touch panel suitable for factory automation, as well as Atmel offers chipsets for 15in touchscreens from Atmel, and Flat-sealed front panel PC for industrial use from Advantech.
