Ubiwave and ZMD have developed a complete sub-1GHz workbench solution built on the ZMD44102 RF transceiver

The ZMD44102 is the only commercially available IEEE802.15.4 compliant sub-1GHz transceiver and is software configurable to operate in frequency bands available in most parts of the world. The sub-1GHz workbench solution complements Ubiwave's existing offering of 2.4GHz solutions already deployed in the fields of safety and security and healthcare.

It opens up the field for specific applications where range and performance requirements cannot be met by other technologies, eg in the field of asset management and automated meter reading (AMR).

These solutions need low power, long range communication, and very high reliability, now offered by the combination of the UbiNet mesh networking protocol and the ZMD44102.

The UbiNet mesh network solution is a one-stop-shop offering for integrating wireless mesh technology into sensor products.

It comprises three essential components: the CN07 hardware module with the ZMD44102 transceiver; the UbiNet communication stack - one of the world's most powerful mesh networking stacks; and the UbiNet Workbench - a set of software tools to aid the development, installation, commissioning and field operation of wireless mesh networks.

The UbiNet workbench operates in symbiosis with the UbiNet communication stack and CN07 sub-1GHz module.

Workbench tools such as the Embedded Application Builder and the Control Panel Builder allow existing (wired) sensor applications to be easily and rapidly enhanced with wireless mesh technology.
